Title: Choosing the Right Makeup Colors for You
What color family is right for you? Does your skin have cool, warm, or neutral undertones? Let us explore color together.
You have cool undertones if:
Your skin is: pink, rosy, beige, or brown. Your hair is: a soft shade of brown or blonde, or dark brown or black. And your eyes are: blue, gray, or black-brown.
You have warm undertones if:
Your skin is: golden or olive. Your hair is: golden or red. And your eyes are: green or brown.
You have neutral undertones if you have a balance between warm and cool undertones. Most women have neutral undertones.
If you have cool undertones, then you should choose your eye shadow, blush, and lip colors from the cool color family. The cool color family is your pinks and roses and also includes fuchsias, violets, lavenders, grapes, cherries and wines. Pinks and roses are good for cool to neutral skin tones.
If you have neutral undertones, then you should choose your eye shadow, blush, and lip colors from one of the neutral color families. Mauves and berries are considered neutral. Mauves and berries also include: mauves, berries, plums, burgundies, lilacs, and cranberries. Mauves and berries are good for cool to neutral skin tones but leans more toward neutral.
Corals and reds are also considered neutral. Corals and reds include: peaches, corals, oranges, brownish reds, tawnies, apricots, and all shades of red except for the bluish reds, which are considered cool. Corals and reds are good for neutral to warm skin tones but leans more toward the neutral.
If you have warm undertones, then you should choose your colors from the warm color family. The beiges and browns are considered warm colors and includes: browns, bronzes, golds, mochas, taupes and spices. Beiges and browns are good for warm to neutral skin tones.
Now that you know more about skin undertones, you now have the knowledge to pick the perfect makeup color for your skin. But by all means, if you have cool undertones but are drawn to the warmer colors don’t think this is written in stone. Have fun and experiment with your new colors. Choose lighter or darker shades of your colors to spice things up a bit.

Title: Proper Eye Makeup Will Cheer up Your Appearance - Tips from the Experts
Eyes speak volumes, giving you individuality; however, a little eye makeup can just do wonders - empowering your twin gazers to spell their magic over everything. People belonging to ancient civilizations were sensible enough to recognize the importance of cosmetics and engaged in elaborate eye makeup.
The tradition continues even today and the modern beauties deem eye make up as the best way to heighten physical attractiveness. Hence, no matter what color or shape your eyes are, clever usage of eye make up can turn them to beauty assets, giving them greater depth and meaning.
How to get on with your eye make up?
Usage of eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara in keeping with essential beauty tips completes the makeup for your eyes, unless and until you have dark circles under you eyes. You may hide your dark circles with a few dots of concealer.
Eye Shadow
Available in a beautiful array of powders, creams and glittery dustings, eye shadows highlight and define the eyes by creating depth. Natural shades that go well with your skin tone will enhance your looks and add to your individuality. Therefore, select earthy tones such as beige, brown, gold or plum. Apply dark colored shadow on your eyelids if you have large eyes; this will make the eyes appear small. Using lighter color helps give eyes a larger effect.
Eyeliner
Give your eyes the real definition by applying a thin line of eyeliner. The line should be as close to the lash line as possible. If you want a heavy make up, you may go for a darker and thicker line. Going by standard beauty tips, you should stick to natural colors such as black or brown or else give in to your imagination. Pencil, liquid eyeliners are available in various colors.
To achieve the best definition, line both the lower and upper lid. Line the upper lid from the inside corner to the outside corner; for the lower lid draw a line just under the lashes.
Mascara
Mascara gives you a majestic gaze by framing your eyes in beautiful flaps of thick, dark, long eyelashes. Again, black and brown are hot favorites in mascara. Generally, two coats of mascara are applied; however, you will be required to give the first coating a little drying up time before you go ahead with the final finish.
Makeup is no less than art and so is eye makeup. The secret to success with this art is not overdoing. A valuable beauty tip for you would be - Indulge in eye makeup to the degree that it keeps the natural beauty of your eyes intact, giving them more glitter, expression and life.

Title: The marketing hype continues!
I received a card in the mail today from a well known skin care company promoting a new Foundation. Apparently this Foundation is 'breathable' - what, it breathes???? and it 'keeps skin fit all day'!???!!! Personally I have never noticed my skin feeling 'unfit'! It is not an area that I am used to working along with my biceps and triceps. Skincare companies are constantly trying to convince us that their product is better and we need it more than any other product. The means in which they do this are becoming more and more inventive, if not ridiculous! What does it mean that my skin 'keeps fit'? And how much was the marketing exec paid to come up with this little ad? Whether it's makeup or any other product we are purchasing we need to try and sift through the jargon and get back to basics. We need to read labels, ask questions and be smart buyers!

Title: Ambition - the importance of goals and dreams
Do you love your job? I do! Not only do I get to work at home and have precious time with my daughter Jasmine - almost 3 by the way! - but I REALLY love my work. I wake up in the morning excited to start the day. Most of my 'BIG' ideas come to me either during the night or first thing in the morning. Why do I love it? Well, for a start I have always been a bit of a girly girl and loved makeup and pretty colours, not to mention a bit (or a lot) of glitter here and there. Mineral makeup certainly fulfills that need in me. But also the challenge of working the business and the satisfaction of achieving my goals. The wholesale division is going great and I have to say hats off to my resellers who are working hard to build their businesses and doing really well too! The main thing is, LOVE what you do. Then find or create a way to make it your job. If you are truly passionate about what you are doing the rest just seems to fall into place. I'll leave you with a favourite quote: "If we did all the things that we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves."

Title: New Eyeliner pencils are in
Just a quick note about our new Pencil Me In Eyeliner Pencils. They are just lovely, and each one comes with it's own little inbuilt sharpener. No more rummaging around the makeup drawer to find your sharpener, it's in the lid! The pencils are lovely, they go on smooth and creamy and last really well throughout the day!

Title: 'Miracle' ingredients in skincare products
I have always felt strongly about skincare products marketing and how misleading it can be. Do you read your labels? If you do, do those big words mean anything to you? I was looking at a label on a popular brand Foundation the other day, to find that the ingredients label actually opened up to reveal another WHOLE PAGE of ingredients! Half of them I couldn't even pronounce. There was an interesting show on the ABC this week - The Gruen Transfer. They discussed the techniques used by marketing companies to promote skincare and so called 'miracle' ingredients. One product even advertised that it contains 'Oxygen' - WOW, pay for oxygen in your products, just in case your're not getting enough walking around and breathing it in! Hilarious! If you didn't catch the show you can read about it here: http://www.abc.net.au/tv/gruentransfer/episodes/2008_ad_index_Wednesday23July2008.htm Well worth the read, or you can even download the episode on the same website - Episode 9 I think it was.

Title: Mineral Makeup
It seems I am not a very good blogger, with my last entry being Dec 2007! This year I have been busy working on the website and getting the Mineral Makeup up and running. I have been thrilled with the response to the mineral makeup, thanks to all my customers for your positive comments and emails! I have just added a new article about mineral makeup, well worth a read under the 'articles' link at your left. I will be adding more as I get time! I have some new eyeshadow colours that I have just uploaded, Mermaid and Pink sherbert, both are very pretty for a Winter pick me up. I have also added a wholesale section so if you are a salon owner or want to start your own mineral makeup business email me at info@beautyfronature.com.au Cheers! Julie

Title: My first BLOG!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! The Beauty from Nature website is up and running! I still have more products to add, so if there is a product you have seen at my market stall or anything you want but can't find drop me a line and I'll see what I can do! I came across a very interesting article that I feel is relevant to the message I am trying to get across about harmful ingredients in cosmetic products, here is the link: http://www.thinkbeforeyoupink.org/Pages/CosmeticCompanies.html Very interesting and well worth a read! I am doing the Ocean Grove and Drysdale markets in Jan/Feb - see my Events calender for details. If you can't make it to the markets ordering is easy on the website and with a flat rate of $8 postage you know exactly what you are up for!
